Lincoln HS

Kentlake travels to Lincoln HS in Tacoma for a match with the Lincoln Abes. JV and C will be at 3pm and Varsity appears to be at 4:45pm (that is the standard time for their home matches). Lincoln is 2-3 on the year, with both victories coming over Mount Tahoma (3-0 and 3-1). The team will be without Senior OH Natalie Berube who as part of the Homecoming Court will be at Falcon Night festivities this evening.

Lincoln Match Update

All three teams will play at Lincoln High School in Tacoma on Wednesday. JV and Cardinal will play at 3pm and Varsity will follow at about 4:15pm.

Photos

I finally figured out how to display pictures from Flickr on the website, so the Photos page now features photo sets from Ward Honbo. We will have some Varsity images from Away games and JV from both home and away.

Over the River and Through the Woods

To South Kitsap we go on Thursday. The Wolves are 3-0 with victories over Foss (3-0), Peninsula (3-1) and Wilson (3-1) [who are a combined 1-11 on the season]. JV starts at 4:45pm with Varsity following at 6pm.

Team Pictures Ready

Team pictures are now available for viewing and ordering. Go to www.angiearmsphotography.com, select "Client Viewing" and they are divided by varsity, jv, c, and buddy and coaches. There are no passwords. Order based on the image numbers below each image. Orders have to be received by the photographer by Monday, the 26th, so you will need to mail them by Saturday the 24th (this Saturday) at the latest.

Mt Rainier Tomorrow

Tomorrow Kentlake travels to Mount Rainier (Des Moines) for the start of SPSL play. There is an article about Mount Rainier volleyball in the Highline Times.

Kentridge Tonight

Kentlake will play Kentridge tonight at home. JV and C will play at 6pm and Varsity will follow at about 7:15pm.

Kentridge Varsity is lead by Allison Chin and Erin Sullivan, with Jordan Denny setting. The are 0-2 on the year being swept by Graham-Kapowsin and Kentwood.

Kent Classic Pools

Pools have now been posted for the Kent Classic. We are the #2 seed in Pool J. We will play in the New Gym starting at 9am (reffing at 8am).

It's Game Day!!!

We may be last in the nation to start, but Kentlake Volleyball finally kicks off the 2011 season tonight at home against Kent-Meridian. JV and Cardinal start at 6pm and Varsity will follow at approximately 7:15pm. There is an admission charge (I think $7) but you get in free if you help out. We still need:

• Cardinal Scorebook
• JV Libero Tracker
• JV Lines
• Varsity Concessions

Libero tracker and Cardinal lines are very easy. Remember: you get in free if you help the team!

Food Items Needed for Hospitality Room

The food list for the Hospitality Room for the Kent Classic is now listed on Volunteer Spot (see link below). Please sign up to bring a food or drink item for the coaches and refs.

JV/Cardinal Parents Help Needed Saturday

We need JV and/or Cardinal Team parents to volunteer to oversee concessions and the hospitality room for the Kent Classic on Saturday. Both are easy jobs, but very important for the smooth running of the event. Please sign up online at:

KM Game Switched To Kentlake

The Tuesday match against Kent Meridian has been switched to Kentlake as the remodeled gym at KM is not ready yet. The league game against KM at the end of the year is not being moved, so KM will come to KL twice.

As a result we quickly need to get ready for an extra home game. Please sign up for jobs ASAP.  Remember, if you work a job you get in free.

UWTV To Show Huskies Live

Eight University of Washington home matches this season will be shown live on UWTV (Channel 27 on Comcast, sorry not available on DirecTV/Dish Network). Fox Sports NW will show two additional matches on a tape delayed basis.

The UWTV matches will be:

• Friday, September 16 at 7 p.m. vs. USC
• Saturday, September 17 at 7 p.m. vs. UCLA
• Friday, September 30 at 7 p.m. vs. Oregon
• Friday, October 7 at 7 p.m. vs. Colorado

The home match against Lincoln on Wednesday, September 28th has been changed to an Away match. We will play at Lincoln in the afternoon. That day is Falcon Night and unfortunately an alternative could not be worked out.

Spirit Wear

You can order Kentlake Volleyball Spirit Wear now through September 14th. It will be delivered to the school within 3 weeks of the 14th.

• STEP 1: Go to lidsteamsports.com 
• STEP 2: Click on “Team Shop” 
• STEP 3: Type in the organization code ("KNTLKHSVYBLL") and click “Go to Form” 
• STEP 4: Select team merchandise and add to shopping cart. 
• STEP 5: Once shopping is complete, click on “Checkout” and either register as a new customer or log in with previously registered information.

We have only six home matches this year (plus the Kent Classic). We need parents to volunteer to help at this matches do the scorebook, scoreboard, libero tracker, lines and concessions. If you do one of the jobs then you get in free for that match.
